About Partnership WALK

Partnership Walk is an initiative of Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. (AKF USA) and its volunteers in communities across America to raise funds and awareness to help communities in some of the poorest areas of Africa and Asia create long-term solutions to poverty.

Since 1995, 40 Walks have been held in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles, attracting 239,000 participants and raising $28 million. In 2007, 27,500 Walkers in 5 cities raised $2 million to bring a spark of hope to vulnerable families in Africa and Asia. 100% of the funds raised at Partnership Walk go directly to projects supported by the Foundation. Partnership Walk is a public event to raise awareness about how people can make a difference in ending global poverty. It promotes partnerships among Americans and people in the developing world.

The Walk brings together families, leaders in government, business, media and the arts as well as teams of corporations, students and community groups for a day of learning, entertainment and fundraising. The Walk raises funds for innovative, cost-effective projects that improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable – especially women and children – in some of the poorest areas of Asia and Africa. The Walk is a special occasion for people to act locally and make an impact globally. Participants take part in a global network of concerned citizens that begins at the grassroots in your own community. Partnership Walk is an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. and organized by its network of volunteers across American communities.

Partnership Walk Highlights:

• A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available at each tournament to provide businesses and individuals involved with maximum exposure.
• Net proceeds raised by Partnership Walk tournaments across U.S.A. help AKF USA leverage additional support from government agencies, corporations and private foundations
• Interactive and engaging exhibits and games called Village in Action that showcase the Foundation’s achievements in health, education, rural development, microfinance, community organizing and the environment.
• Exciting gifts, prizes, entertainment, dining and more!
