2007 Theme: Innovative Solutions to Create Hope and Opportunity

Each year Partnership Walk explores international development issues via a specific theme that is significant to the Aga Khan Foundation’s work in health, education, rural development, civil society and the environment. In October 2006, Aga Khan
Foundation U.S.A. (AKF USA) launched the celebration of its 25th anniversary and will continue to draw attention to its quarter century of service through a variety of events and educational activities in 2007.

This year’s theme embraces a unifying thread found in all of the Foundation’s work: Innovative Solutions to Create Hope and Opportunity. For a quarter century, AKF USA has been investing in people, extending a helping hand – not a hand-out – to communities and individuals so they may live with dignity and hope. In its commitment to alleviate poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy, AKF USA focuses on strengthening the ability of local communities to have a greater voice and choice in determining their own development.
